Peter Forsythe BVM&S DVD MRCVS spent 14 years in general practice before specialising in veterinary dermatology. He founded the Dermatology Referral Service in 2001. He is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Recognised Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology and an Honorary Lecturer in Veterinary Dermatology at Glasgow University Veterinary School. Peter has special interests in ear disease and bacterial skin disease. Peter is co-author of a textbook in veterinary dermatology. He is a member of the British College of Veterinary Specialists.
Hilary Jackson BVM&S DVD DACVD MRCVS joined the Dermatology Referral Service in March 2006. For the 10 years prior to that she held the post of Associate Professor of Veterinary Dermatology at North Carolina State Veterinary School, a worldwide centre of excellence for the study of skin diseases of animals. She is recognised as a Specialist in Veterinary Dermatology by both the Amercian and European Colleges of Veterinary Dermatology and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons. Hilary has a particular interest in allergic diseases and she is a serving member of the International Committee on Allergic Diseases of Animals. Hilary is also a member of the British College of Veterinary Specialists.
Victoria (Tori) Robinson BVM&S BSc(Hons) Cert AVP(VD) MRCVS qualified from the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh, in 2008. After several years in general practice, she completed a rotating internship at The University of Liverpool. Tori gained her CertAVP(Veterinary Ddermatology) before returning to the University of Edinburgh as a junior clinician in dermatology. After a year at Rutland House Referrals in St Helens she has started her specialist training at Dermatology Referrals. Outside of work Tori enjoys running, walking and socialising with friends.
Debbie Gow BVM&S VN PhD MRCVS is a senior clinical training resident working towards gaining her European Diploma in Veterinary Dermatology under the supervision of Peter and Hilary and Dr Tim Nuttal at the University of Edinburgh. Debbie graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2007. Since then she has done a rotating internship at the University of Glasgow Veterinary School and completed a PhD in feline macrophages. Debbie's training is split between the Dermatology Referral Service and the University of Edinburgh.
Jackie Lamb VN is our practice manager at the Dermatology Referral Service. She is also a trained veterinary nurse and helps out with nursing duties on busy days. She joined the practice in February 2005 and has a wealth of experience in the day to day running of the practice as well as the investigation and treatment of skin disease in animals.
Gayle Morrison joined us in May 2016 as full time veterinary nurse. She has already developed a wealth of knowledge in the investigation and treatment of skin diseases and is an invaluable member of the team.
Julie McLaughlin "Julz" joined the practice in May 2016. She is our full time receptionist. With ten years previous experience working reception at a busy veterinary centre, Julz is no stranger to being the first point of contact for clients needing to use the service or the administrative tasks necessary for the smooth running of the practice. She is both polite and friendly with an unfailingly sunny disposition, she is also compassionate and caring and has always held good relationships with both clients and staff. Julz is the lynchpin of the practice. She has a huge soft spot for all things furry and feathered and can't wait to meet all of your little friends!
