The Dermatology Referral Service is a veterinary practice that is solely dedicated to the diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases in pets and other animal species. The practice is staffed by Peter Forsythe and Hilary Jackson who are both Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons Recognised Specialists in the field of Veterinary Dermatology.
Your first port of call if your pet has a skin problem is your own vet. Many skin diseases are straightforward to diagnose and treat but others are more complex or long standing. In such cases, your veterinary surgeon may recommend a referral to a specialist practice such as ourselves for more detailed investigation and a full discussion of treatment options. Please note that we are a referral practice which means that we can only see your pet following referral from your veterinary surgeon. For those of you interested in a fix of Derm CPD, both Hilary and Peter are lecturing over the coming months. In association with Pfizer, Peter will be speaking on the management of pyoderma in Aberdeen on June 17th; further details will be available from Pfizer Animal Health. Also in association with Pfizer, Peter is speaking at two meetings aimed at Vet Nurses on May 20th in Edinburgh and May 22nd in Penrith. The title of the talks is "Parasites in Practice for Nurses".
