I was born in the small village of San Sebastiano da Po, in the countryside of Northern Italy. From an early age, I spent much of my time surrounded by animals, so becoming a veterinary surgeon felt like a natural path for me. I graduated in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Turin in 2001. From 2003 to 2013, I worked as a general practitioner in my own private practice in Caluso, Italy, where I developed a strong interest in dermatology. In February 2009, I completed a one-month externship in Veterinary Dermatology at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, College of Veterinary Medicine, under the supervision of Dr. Lluis Ferrer, Diplomate ECVD. In February 2012, I began a Residency Programme in Veterinary Dermatology under the supervision of Drs. Chiara Noli and Silvia Colombo, both Diplomates of the European College of Veterinary Dermatology (ECVD).
As part of my specialist training, I also spent time in the Parasitology Department at the University of Turin under the supervision of Dr. Andrea Peano. During this period, I actively contributed to national and international veterinary meetings as a lecturer and speaker. I completed my residency programme in February 2016 and, in July 2018, achieved Diplomate status with the ECVD. Over the following years, I provided dermatology consultations for dogs and cats across Northern Italy, both through referral practice and teleconsulting services.
My main professional interests include allergic skin diseases, bacterial infections, ear diseases and, more recently, laser surgery. In December 2022, I moved to Glasgow to join the Dermatology Referral Service. After successfully passing the statutory RCVS examination, I am now working as a Senior Veterinary Surgeon, continuing to focus exclusively on veterinary dermatology and referral care.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading, spending time in nature, and above all, prioritising time with my family.
